GPOD’s stability fosters great loyalty
Many of our employees have been working the sorting table or bagging GPOD potatoes for more than 20 years, and a number of them have been with us since 1973.
GPOD of Idaho began operations in Idaho Falls in 1968 after Fred Thompson and John Gellings formed a partnership with California’s General Potato and Onion Distributors, LTD. Within five years, we built a new facility a few miles south in Shelley, Idaho, positioning ourselves on a main highway (U.S. 91) and next to a main line of the Union Pacific Railroad.
GPOD enjoys loyal business relationships with roots that run deep. Several farmers have grown for us since 1968, and many of our long-term customer relationships date back to this time when we shipped primarily to the northeastern United States.
GPOD keeps all production and shipping under one roof to ensure quality and provide you with a superior product. This longstanding commitment to quality makes our future as bright as our past is strong.
